About the Role
Junior Sous Chef – Barnstaple, North Devon
Salary: £33,345 per annum
Hours: 47.5 hours per week
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join a well-established kitchen team in the heart of Barnstaple. Work with fresh, quality ingredients, contribute to creative menus, and help lead a busy, professional kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
• Lead and support junior chefs and kitchen porters
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Manage ordering and stock control of fresh and frozen produce
• Ensure efficient mise en place for all kitchen sections
• Uphold food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards
• Liaise with front-of-house and events teams for smooth service
• Contribute to seasonal menu development and kitchen improvements
