Quartz Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading holiday resort in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the coach tour industry. This is a pivotal role focused on driving new group business, strengthening trade partnerships and expanding the resort's presence within the UK coach tour market.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands the commercial landscape of coach travel, group bookings and tour operator relationships — and who can convert that insight into sustainable revenue growth.
The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will lead the resort's strategy for attracting and securing coach tour business, group stays and trade partnerships. You'll identify new opportunities, nurture key relationships and position the resort as a preferred destination for tour operators and group travel organisers.
The role offers hybrid working, requires regular UK travel, and is primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend commitments to support events, familiarisation trips or peak trading periods.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deliver a targeted business development strategy for the coach tour and group travel market
• Identify, approach and secure new partnerships with coach tour operators, group travel organisers and trade partners
• Proactively generate new business through outbound sales, networking and industry engagement
• Build strong relationships with national and regional tour operators, wholesalers and travel trade bodies
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and guest insights to inform commercial decisions
• Lead promotional campaigns and support marketing initiatives to increase visibility within the coach tour sector
• Collaborate with the resort's leadership team to enhance group offerings, packages and guest experience
• Attend trade shows, industry events and networking forums representing the resort
• Produce regular performance reports, forecasts and pipeline updates
The Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience in business development or new business sales
• Essential experience within the coach tour industry — ideally with established trade relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
• Target-driven with a proactive, results-focused approach
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Confident working independently and managing multiple stakeholders
• Willingness to travel across the UK as required
