About the Role
Business Development Executive

Salary: up to £35,000 per annum + bonus

Quartz Recruitment is proud to represent a prestigious North Devon resort, seeking an experienced Business Development Executive to drive new business growth within the hospitality and leisure sector.
This is a results-driven, new business role suited to someone who understands the commercial dynamics of hospitality, leisure or tourism and can translate market insight into revenue.
The Role
As Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a clear business development strategy aligned with the resort’s commercial goals. Your focus will be on identifying and securing new revenue streams, increasing market presence and building strong external partnerships.
The role offers hybrid working, involves some travel, and is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work to support events, promotions or peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver a clear business development strategy aligned with resort goals
Identify and secure new revenue streams, partnerships and corporate bookings
Proactively generate new business through outbound sales and networking activity
Build strong relationships with travel agents, local businesses, tourism boards and community groups
Analyse market trends, competitor activity and guest insights to inform decision-making
Lead promotional campaigns and support marketing initiatives to boost visibility and bookings
Work closely with the resort’s leadership team to enhance product offerings and guest experience
Attend networking events, trade shows and industry forums representing the resort
Produce regular performance reports, forecasts and pipeline updates
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience in business development or new business sales
Essential experience within hospitality, leisure or tourism
Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking
Target-driven with a proactive, results-focused approach
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
Confident working independently and managing multiple stakeholders
Willingness to travel as required
